WATERBURY — Mr. Richard F. "Gugie" Guglielmo, 74, of 94 Beth Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Carol F. (Cannata) Guglielmo.

Dick was born in Waterbury on Nov. 26, 1935, son of the late William and Clara (Valonis) Guglielmo. He graduated from Wilby High School. He served five years in the Connecticut Nation Guard. He worked as body shop manager for Loehmann Blasius Chevrolet for 32 years until his retirement in 1997. His hobbies included power boating and building street rods. He was currently building a 1951 Chevy street rod.

Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves a son, Michael J. Guglielmo of Waterbury; a daughter, Patricia Carpentieri and her husband, Michael, of Wolcott; a brother, William "Billy" T. Guglielmo and his wife, Virginia, of Middlebury; a sister-in-law, Julie Guglielmo of Wolcott; and two grandsons, Matthew Richard and Chistopher Michael Carpentieri of Wolcott. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Guglielmo.

Arrangements: Funeral 8 a.m. Thursday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
